The Clinic

Now if you have considered those 5 questions I mentioned in the previous post and you can bear with those, I guess you are ready to be a brace face. The next step that you have to do is choosing 'THE CLINIC'. Before I agreed to proceed with the clinic of my preference, of course I did some research. These are the clinics I called to trouble them with many queries.

1. Klinik Pergigian Sharifah Aminah, Batu Caves (braces biasa pun RM5.5k)

2. Klinik Pergigian Aidil, Wangsa Maju (I went there for free consultation and doc suggested Damon braces)

3. Dzul Orthodontic and Dental Surgey, Ampang Park (mahal nak mampuih)

4. Klinik Pergigian Redha, Cheras (no easy access by public transportation)

5. David Specialist Orthodontics, Megan Avenue 1 (mahal jugak and banyak kena jalan)

6. Klinik Pergigian DSR Smile, Subang Jaya (jauh nak ulang-alik tempat kerja kalau monthly checkup)

7. Dr Teeth Dental Clinic, Subang Jaya (ni harga okay but jauh sangat)

8. Klinik Gigi Dr Zarin, Ampang (murah tapi selalu ramai orang dan kawasan jammed kalau nak pergi)

And banyak lagi clinic sebenarnya. Ada la 20 clinics I called. Dah nak give up macam nak postpone je pasang braces ni sebab banyak clinic mahal-mahal. As a last resort, I called Klinik Pergigian Bangsar (KPB), Jalan Telawi 5 tanya. Actually I malas nak call awal-awal this clinic sebab dengar cerita, clinic ni owned by the Government. Kalau government clinic, akan ada waiting list semua tu. I nak pakai la la tu juga. Tu la orang cakap tak kenal maka tak cinta. Rupanya private clinic dek non. Ni hah gambar clinic. Just opposite dengan Guardian Bangsar Baru. Sederet dengan Guardian tu plak Pelita & Mc D.

So I dug some details about orthodontics service there which is braces tu la. 

• Overall Price : RM4500 (harga ni sampai akhir tahun 2016 sahaja. Katanyaaa)
• Down Payment : RM2300 (bayar 1k+1k+300 or 1k+1.3k or 2k+300) - pasang braces atas & bawah
• Consultation : RM200 (consult doc, check gigi semua, amek X-ray, amek acuan gigi)
• Monthly Checkup : RM100 (bayar 20 kali)

I set the consultation date to be on 17th May 2016, 8.30 am. Mula-mula register nama dulu kat counter. 20 minutes after that, the worker there called my name. Baring la atas kerusi dentist tu. Dr Naga is my orthodontist. Dia check gigi I and explain yang my case doesn't require any tooth extraction just YET. Dia cakap next appointment dia akan terus pasang braces kat gigi atas. Lepas check gigi, dia suruh stand at the corner of the room sebab ada X-ray machine kat situ. Berdiri la sambil amek X-ray. Then, baring balik sebab doc nak buat teeth moulding. He instructed his assistant to prepare a thick greenish minty paste for moulding. The doc put the paste on a shovel-like plastic container then, paste it on my upper teeth for 2 minutes followed by my lower teeth. Maka terhasillah sebuah acuan gigi yang buruk dan senget-benget. Macam nak baling bagi pecah je.

Dah settle semua, bayar RM200 kat counter. Lepas tolak from overall price, baki nak kena bayar ada lagi RM4300. The next appointment was set on 20th May 2016, 11 am. Malam tu terus pergi scaling kat Klinik Pergigian Erfa kat Wangsa Melawati kasi bersih dan putih sikit.
